The Xfinity Center is designed with parking, power-assisted doors, restrooms, concessions, water fountains, ATMs, closed captioning and seating areas accessible to guests with disabilities.

Recreation

RecWell Accessibility

RecWell is committed to providing facilities, programs, services and employment opportunities that are inclusive to the entire UMD community. Programs are designed to allow participation by all. Except for the Reckord Armory (no elevator), all RecWell facilities meet the Americans with Disabilities (ADA) compliance requirements and standards. Guide/aid animals are permitted.

Adaptive Sports

UMD Fencing Club

UMCP Club Fencing offers wheelchair/adaptive fencing and is beginner-friendly. All levels of experience are welcome; gear and instruction provided. Interested participants can get in touch through the club's email, Instagram or Discord (available through the Club Fencing Linktree) or just show up to a practice!

Climbing

RecWell's Climbing Wall hosts affinity spaces at the climbing wall. Affinity spaces can be a place for underrepresented people in a community to come together. No sign-up is required! Participants can simply show up at the Eppley RecWell climbing wall. Please wear comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes.

Adaptive Tennis Info

JTCC, a tennis center in College Park, serves more than 300 adaptive athletes per year. They offer free weekly wheelchair tennis clinics open to people with disabilities of all ages, from beginners to experienced players. Sports wheelchairs are provided upon request.
